Art Center Wine Label Contest Winners Announced

Local winners include two from Rancho Palos Verdes, one from Torrance and another from Long Beach.

A chardonnay wine label designed by Susana Placek of Rancho Palos Verdes called “Peacock Vineyards” took first place in the 2011 Palos Verdes Art Center Anniversary Wine Label Contest.

The contest, which included 90 label submissions, was for the front or primary wine label that contains a graphic visual that embodied the spirit of the and the Palos Verdes community.

Judges awarded three second place winners $500. The winners included “Looking On,” chardonnay label designed by Alex Louie of Torrance; “PV Wine,” chardonnay label designed by Ron Miranda of Long Beach; and “Crayon,” a chardonnay label by Edward Beall of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Winning labels will be featured on wine bottles poured during the Art Center’s anniversary events throughout the year.
