Utility Pole Replacement Experiencing 'Extreme Delays'

The project was supposed to end at 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The Southern California Edison utility pole relocation project, scheduled to be completed at 5 p.m., "has experienced extreme delays today," according to an alert from Rancho Palos Verdes city staff.

The project was originally going to last from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. as SCE used a helicopter to replace four power poles in the Palos Verdes Nature Preserve and nearby neighborhood.

"The scheduled power outage will extend past 6 p.m. until further notice," staff wrote in the notice. "Approximately 54 residents will be affected in the Sea View Tract."

Palos Verdes Drive South is open to traffic, staff said.

People with questions should contact SCE at 800-611-1911.
