More than 1,600 Southern California Edison customers in Rolling Hills Estates were without power Saturday morning due to downed power lines, according to Southern California Edison's online outage map.
The power outage, which started at about 8:30 a.m., also knocked out the traffic signal at the intersection of Palos Verdes Drive North and Palos Verdes Drive East, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station.
Drivers are urged to avoid the intersection for at least the next several hours.
The blackout began at about 8:45 a.m. when power lines went down on Palos Verdes Drive East between Chandler's Sand and Gravel and the Rolling Hills Country Club, deputies said.
Crews from Southern California Edison were at the scene working to restore power. An estimated restoration time was not provided.
