'Revenge' to Film at Wayfarer's Chapel, Founder's Park

The primetime soap opera has used many South Bay locations as stand-ins for the ritzy Hamptons.

Crews will be filming an episode of ABC's hit television series Revenge at various Palos Verdes locations Tuesday and Wednesday, according to a pair of emails from the city of Rancho Palos Verdes.

Preparation work at Founder's Park began Friday with the construction of a temporary tent and platform on the lawn area, and crews continued to decorate the set on Monday.

On Tuesday, the production will use the western half of the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park parking lot as base camp for filming a wedding ceremony at Wayfarer's Chapel. Equipment will begin arriving at 4 a.m., and filming activities will run from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The eastern half of the parking lot and the remainder of Abalone Cove Shoreline Park will remain accessible to the public during regular park hours.

Crews will set up a base camp Wednesday on private property at Trump National Golf Club for wedding reception scenes to be filmed at Founder's Park. Base camp hours will be 4 a.m. to midnight, while filming in the park will occur between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Public trails and parking will remain accessible at the park during normal park hours, according to city staff.

Questions about the film permit should be directed to the city's Film Permit Desk at 310-544-5226 or film@rpv.com.

Revenge focuses on one woman's quest to avenge the wrongful imprisonment and death of her father, is set in the Hamptons; however, the majority of the show is filmed in the greater Los Angeles area.

Many South Bay locations—including Torrance Beach, El Segundo High School and Riviera Village—have appeared on the show, and the main interior sets are housed at Raleigh Studios Manhattan Beach on Rosecrans Avenue.

Revenge airs locally on ABC at 9 p.m. Sundays.
