PV Sees Lower-Than-Average Rainfall

Despite recent rains, the Palos Verdes Peninsula has seen lower-than-average precipitation totals this month.

The storm that settled in over the Los Angeles area earlier this week dropped about half an inch of rain over parts of Palos Verdes as wind speeds reached 23 miles per hour.

As of 10 p.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported 0.18 inches of rain were recorded in Palos Verdes.

This December has seen less rain than an average December in Palos Verdes, according to the weather service. Average rainfall for December in the city is 2.09 inches. So far this month, 1.26 inches has been recorded.

Chilly winds accompanied the rain. The peak wind gust in Rancho Palos Verdes as of Tuesday night clocked in at 40 miles per hour.
