Officials Warn of Helicopter Activity Over Point Vicente, Rolling Hills

Residents of Rancho Palos Verdes and Rolling Hills may hear helicopter activity Thursday.

Residents of the Palos Verdes Peninsula who see a low-flying helicopter Thursday should not be alarmed, according to a Nixle alert from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Lomita Station.

The U.S. Coast Guard will be conducting helicopter training at Point Vicente from mid-morning until early afternoon.

Additionally, Southern California Edison will use a helicopter to install a utility pole in Rolling Hills at about 11 a.m.

"This email is simply to advise residents of the activity so that no one becomes unnecessarily alarmed by the low flying aircraft and generates a distress call to local agencies in error," deputies said.
