Local Chapel Celebrates Same-Sex Marriage
Wayfarers Chapel, designed by architect Lloyd Wright, has a special offer for same-sex couples.
With the Supreme Court's recent rulings on Proposition 8 and the Defense of Marriage Act, same-sex marriage will soon be legal in California—and at least one local business is celebrating the decisions.
Wayfarers Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes is now offering a 30 percent discount for all same-sex marriage ceremonies booked during July, according to an announcement posted on Manhattan Beach Patch.
"Our chapel wanted a special way to embrace gay couples after their long battle against Prop 8," said Rev. Rich Tafel, the chairman of the board of directors for the chapel. "I'm personally proud that our chapel is reaching out to my community who has suffered from often terrible treatment from organized religion."

Designed by architect Lloyd Wright, son of Frank Lloyd Wright, Wayfarers Chapel is built out of glass and is listed on the national registry of historic places.
