Great California ShakeOut, Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District Meeting

Here are some things to look forward to today in Palos Verdes.

Happy Thursday! Here are five things Palos Verdes residents should know today:

1. As part of the Great California ShakeOut, there will be an expo from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Wal-Mart in Torrance, at 19503 Normandie Ave., to educate local residents about preparing for a disaster. Various locations around the South Bay will be participating in the drill as well. For more information, visit the website online.

2. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District will have a special meeting at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the Malaga Cove Admininstration Center located at 375 Via Almar in Palos Verdes Estates. Click here to view the agenda.

3. There will be a writer's workshop at 1 p.m. at the Peninsula Center Library located at 701 Silver Spur Road in Rolling Hills Estates. For more information, call (310) 377-1722.
