Raises Funds for PVP Schools
Come on Palos Verdes, Let’s BOND!
The Peninsula Education Foundation’s (PEF) Main Event fundraiser will be held Saturday, May 10th at Terranea Resort. A James Bond inspired theme will be the center of this year’s event and sets a new tone: casino tables; shaken not stirred martinis; silent, wine and live auctions; dinner; and of course, lots of dancing to the sounds of VOX DJ. “This is sure to be an evening of Bond-like fun, but no danger involved!” says event chair and PEF trustee Michele Feller.
The evening includes the renowned silent auction which includes a wine auction as well as fabulous trips, jewelry, and unique items and experiences. The highlight of the evening will be the infamous Live Auction with packages including private chef dinners; four-carat diamond “stiletto” earrings from Medawar Jewelers; an exclusive family resort membership to Terranea Resort; trips to exotic locales including Croatia; a membership to the Portuguese Bend Beach Club and more.
The raffle drawing for a car is always a highlight, and this year will be no exception. Lexus, a division of Toyota Motor Sales, has donated a 2014 Lexus IS F Sport. http://www.lexus.com/performance/ Lexus raffle tickets are currently on sale and will also be available at the Main Event. Tickets are 1 for $50 and 3 for $125. The winner need not be present at Main Event.
Another popular raffle to support The Main Event: A year of monthly dining is donated by Terranea Resort and includes Friday night seafood buffet dinner or their infamous Sunday Brunch for four once a month for a year. Only 200 tickets will be sold for $100 each. The "Year of Dining at Terranea" Raffle Tickets can be ordered at: http://www.pvpef.org/win-a-year-of-dining-at-terranea-resort/
Main Event’s online auction runs April 18th - 28th for those who would like to support Palos Verdes schools from the comfort of home. Over 300 items are available at www.maineventauction.com ranging from trips to goods and services donated by our generous local businesses and community members.
This year, PEF has committed to donating $3 million to our local public schools. These funds to help keep important programs such as music, library/technology aides, counselors, and engineering programs for middle schools and high schools; and to fund teaching positions, keeping better class sizes
