Dance Peninsula Artistic Director to Teach at Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet

Dance Peninsula Ballet's Artistic Director and Master Ballet Instructor, Roberto Almaguer, will teach at the prestigious Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet Summer Intensive for his ninth consecutive year.

Kaatsbaan International Dance Center is a nonprofit organization and was founded and designed by four professional dancers Gregory Cary, Kevin McKenzie, Bentley Roton, and Martine van Hamel in response to a pressing set of problems that have befallen the state of dance in America in the last 20 years. These problems include a lack of affordable studio space in which to create and rehearse, no time for the creative process, diminished production quality, fewer opportunities for young dance artists to perfect their craft to a professional level and few opportunities for professionals to expand and diversify their expertise in dance.

Kaatsbaan Extreme Ballet Summer Intensive is aimed at the young dancer who is capable of crossing the threshold from intermediate to advanced student and from advanced student to professional dancer. Today, the world of dance demands that performers not only exhibit beautiful and accomplished technique, but also a strong artistic identity. Extreme Ballet is a unique experience for dancers focusing on infusing artistic individuality with technical perfection.

Local dancers will audition for Kaatsbaan on Jan. 27 and Feb. 17 at locations in Los Angeles and Orange County.

Dance Peninsula Ballet is proud of our Artistic Director's participation as a master ballet instructor in this prestigious dance program.
