Here's what to look forward to today in Palos Verdes.

Happy Wednesday! Here are five things Palos Verdes residents should know today:

  1. Today is National Candy Corn Day. According to the National Confectioners Association, more than 35 million pounds—or about nine billion pieces—of candy corn will be produced this year. Find more Halloween candy fun facts on the NCA website.
  2. Art Flying Yoga Studio will host a Dia de los Muertos offrenda-building event today. Bring a photo and short written message, quote or poem to honor deceased loved ones to this free event, which begins at 7:45 p.m. at 24411 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance. See the details on the Patch events calendar.
  3. Today's filming of a Revenge episode will take place at Founder's Park. See more details on this Patch article.
  4. Peninsula Center Library hill host a talk about Common Core Curriculum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the community room at 701 Silver Spur Road, Rolling Hills Estate.
