Peninsula Senior Makes Big Strides in L.A. Marathon

Ricky Riedl participated in the L.A. Marathon on March 20 and finished strong.

Competing against thousands of runners in the L.A. Marathon last weekend, Peninsula High School senior, Ricky Riedl, 18, was a standout.

He came out ahead of many others in his division at the marathon. Riedl finished 14th in the 18-24 age division (1st of 18 and under) and was 118th in mens overall, which included 12,001 runners.

A captain of Peninsula's cross country team this year, Riedl is also captain of the Palos Verdes composite mountain bike team, where he competes in the elite varsity class.

Riedl plans to study mechanical engineering in college and has already been accepted into the Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo and University of California San Diego engineering schools.
