An accident involving an overturned garbage truck on Palos Verdes Drive South temporarily closed the westbound lane of traffic Thursday, according to Rancho Palos Verdes officials. The lane was later reopened.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon between Conqueror Drive and Schooner Drive, adjacent to Trump National Golf Club.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department late Thursday afternoon was re-routing traffic to the eastbound lane.

City officials warned motorists to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
