Skateboarding Exhibit is 'Off the Hook'

An exhibit focused on skateboarding culture kicks off Saturday at Zask Gallery.

The buzz surrounding a possible skate park on the Peninsula that has been for candidates lately continued Saturday at Zask Gallery with the opening of an exhibit all about skateboarding culture.

The "Off the Hook: An Art Show to Benefit Skatepark PV" opening reception at the benefited Skatepark PV, a nonprofit group with the goal of bringing a skate park to the Palos Verdes Peninsula.

“Skatepark PV has a mission to provide a safe and welcoming place in our communities for youth to practice this popular sport," gallery owner Peggy Zask said in a statement. "We have so much creativity living in our community, and I’m thrilled my gallery has the chance to showcase all this talent.”

The event featured live art demonstrations and a silent auction.

"Off the Hook" runs through Nov. 19 at Zask Gallery at the Promenade on the Peninsula, 550 Deep Valley Dr., #151 in Rolling Hills Estates.
